ST Notebook: Giants Come Back To Beat Rockies

Young prospect Tommy Joseph and bubble player Gregor Blanco were key in a late-inning comeback victory for the Giants Wednesday afternoon. Final Score: Giants 8, Rockies 6.

HIGHLIGHTS

--OF Melky Cabrera stayed hot, collecting three hits in as many trips to the plate.

--OF Gregor Blanco continues to impress, going 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBI -- one each in both the seventh and eighth innings.

--IF Emmanuel Burriss doubled and scored a run in the eighth. It was Manny's third extra-base hit in his last two games.

--C Tommy Joseph drove in runs in both the seventh and the eighth, scoring in both innings as well.

--OF Nate Schierholtz went 1-for-2 with a walk, and swiped his second bag in as many days.

--LHP Eric Surkamp pitched three strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four.

--RHP Austin Fleet pitched a scoreless third, striking out two.

--LHP Javier Lopez, RHP Guillermo Mota and RHP Ramon Ortiz all also hurled scoreless frames, with Lopez earning the win and Ortiz the save.

LOWLIGHTS

--RHP Tim Lincecum got shellacked for five earnies on seven hits, including a homer. He pitched just two innings.

--OF Angel Pagan went 0-for-3.

--IF Aubrey Huff went hitless in four trips to the dish, leaving four runners on base.

--IF Pablo Sandoval got picked off second, with two outs and Brandon Belt at the plate.

ON DECK

The Giants will head to Peoria Stadium to face the Padres (1-4) at 12:05 PT. Madison Bumgarner will face off against Edinson Volquez.
