Biography:
Already imposing physically when he signed for a club-record $2.1 million in 2006, Villalona debuted in the United States a two months before his 17th birthday in 2007. His .285/.344/.450 in the Arizona League just begins to point at his potential at the plate, where he is easily the top prospect in the Giants' system. Equally clear from his debut is that he will have a hard time playing third base and he is likely headed across the diamond as he advances in the system.
