The Grizzlies managed to outhit the Sky Sox, but still got shut out. A double and a single made up two of Colorado Springs' five hits to bring in a single run in the second. But in the third, a walk followed by a triple and a single led to two more runs, and after a couple more plays, a single rounded out all of the Sky Sox hits, but gave them four runs on those five hits. The Grizzlies managed six hits, but only one was for extra bases.
Horwitz has been cooling off a bit with a few no-hit and single hit games, but three three-hit games in the last eight have helped keep his average high. He's also hit four doubles in his last eight games, doubling his total for the season in Triple-A. Before the eight in 22 games in Fresno, he had hit only five doubles in 35 games in Connecticut.

McKae is doing alright in Connecticut. He gave up just one run, unearned, although it was also off his own error. Connecticut's offense came through with back-to-back leadoff singles in the third, which then turned into a two RBI single by Simon Klink.
McKae has been spectacular, and still has yet to walk a batter in 23 innings. His four strikeouts was his lowest total so far, however, and the six hits were the most he's given up in Double-A. McKae was removed after eight innings for the second time, after he was controversially removed in the 8th in the last game. The Defenders lost that game. Klink is slugging (.309) less than the percentage he's getting on base at (.310). Anderson has come back with two scoreless outings after giving up four runs on June 9th.

One late rally, and one very important win for the Giants. With two out in the 9th inning, and the Giants down 3-1, Bradley Boyer doubled, Richardson walked, and Bocock doubled to score a run and cut the deficit in half. Then Von Schell doubled after an intentional walk to score two more runs, and win the game for San Jose.
The win, coupled with Stockton's loss to Visalia, gave San Jose the North Division first half title for the second year in a row.
Oseguera has been giving up runs on a fairly regular basis now, but he hasn't walked a single batter in three starts in June. Walker made his first appearance of the season at any level. It's unknown how long he'll stay on this rehab stint. Yosandy Ibanez has been promoted to Double-A.

The GreenJackets followed the lead of their pitching to get another win, as they continue to play out the first half, but this time, some resurgent bats helped. The team had a 2-0 lead in the first, but back-to-back home runs in the 5th inning gave the team three more runs and an insurmountable 5-0 lead. Rohlinger added a solo shot of his own in the 7th to seal the victory. Meanwhile, Snyder allowed just four baserunners in six innings.
Half the baserunners that Snyder allowed were hit by pitches, and it was the same guy that took both bruises, Charleston center fielder Austin Jackson. No punches were thrown and no one was ejected. The three home runs gives Augusta 37 on the year, moving Augusta up from 13th to 12th in the league.
