The Grizzlies put three more runs on the board in the third, thanks to a sacrifice fly by Ortmeier, and RBI singles off the bats of Leone and William Bergolla. That was all the run support that Begg (1-0) would need as he limited Las Vegas to one run in six innings. Dan Giese was lights out in relief, tossing three shutout innings to pick up his third save.

Six different Grizzlies had at least two hits apiece. Nate Schierholtz hit his ninth double of the season. Ortmeier now has 24 RBI.
