Stout pitching and timely hitting give Fresno and Connecticut much needed wins. Augusta stumbles, and San Jose wins in walk-off fashion to end its mini-slide. Just Another Day in the Minors!

Travis Blackley turned in a outstanding performance on the mound, and Kevin Frandsen and Guillermo Rodriguez each hit run scoring singles, as Fresno cruised to a 4-1 victory. Blackley limited Colorado Springs to a pair of hits, and one run over six innings to secure his first win. Colorado Springs didn't have any luck against Fresno's bullpen either, with Pat Misch and Billy Sadler firing blanks over the final three innings.

Misch threw two innings and struck out a pair to pick up his third hold. His ERA now stands at a impressive 1.83. Sadler nailed down his first save.

Travis Ishikawa clubbed a two-run homer, and Darren Sack pitched five strong innings in Connecticut's 5-2 victory over New Britain. Sack allowed two unearned runs, while scattering five hits to pick up his first win of the year. The bullpen was lights out as well, blanking New Britain on two hits over the final four frames, with Brian Anderson closing the game out in the ninth, to pick up his third save.

Brian Horwitz continues to swing a hot stick at the plate, as he went 2-for-3 to up his average to .354. Jake Wald smacked a RBI double to highlight a three-run second inning for the Defenders.

Anthony Contreras hit a walk-off RBI single knocking in Antoan Richardson in the bottom of the 11th, to send San Jose home victorious 4-3. The Giants held a 3-2 lead heading to the ninth inning, but Wayne Foltin surrendered a run scoring double to tie the score 3-3. Foltin recovered nicely pitching a scoreless 10th, and Kelvin Pichardo blanked High Desert in the 11th to pick up the win.

Dave McKae gave up two runs, and struck out eight in six innings. Adam Witter had a pair of hits, and picked up his ninth RBI of the season with a RBI single in the second inning. Micheal Mooney stole his fourth base.

Augusta GreenJackets: Greenville 7, Augusta 4 (Click to see box score)

Greenville roughed up starter Steven Calicutt for five earned runs in four innings, as Augusta lost for just the fourth time in 22 games, 7-4.

Dayton Butler and Robert Felmy picked up the only hits for Augusta, combining to go 5-for-8 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Butler is tearing the cover off the ball these days, hitting a ridiculous .560! Reliever Juan Trinidad pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out three and walking a pair.
