Yosandy Ibanez was tagged for three runs and four walks in just one inning of work during San Jose’s 9-5 loss to Lancaster. In the top of the first inning, Pablo Sandoval lined a triple to center, knocking in Antoan Richardson. One batter later, Sandoval scored on a groundout by William Thompson to put the Giants in front 2-0. It was all downhill from there, however, as Lancaster would pummel the San Jose pitching staff for nine runs in the first six innings.
Sandoval and Michael Mooney combined to go 4-for-6 with three runs batted in to lead San Jose at the plate. Richardson continues to run wild on the base paths, as he swiped his 10th base of the young season. Anthony Moreno was one of the few bright spots on the mound for the Giants, tossing 1 2/3 shutout innings, while fanning a pair.
