In a move that might stop the Dodgers from signing everyone who has ever been a Giant, San Francisco brought back Jose Vizcaino to fill the utility infielder need on the team.

Jose Vizcaino signed a 1 year deal with the Giants on Friday, December 23rd, reportedly worth $1.25 million

Vizcaino, who turns 38 in March, played 2005 with the Houston Astros, appearing at all four infield positions for the National League champs. He batted .246 with 1 home run in 187 at bats. Vizcaino has played 17 seasons in the majors with 8 teams, including a previous stint with the Giants and two stints with the Dodgers.

With the Giants in 1997, Vizcaino was the starting shortstop on the division champion Giants in Brian Sabean’s first year as general manager. He played 151 games, batting .266 with 5 home runs. Over his career, Vizcaino is a .271 hitter.
