Giants decline Snow and Young's option for 2004

Giants have declined their club options on J.T. Snow and Eric Young for the 2004 season.

Snow, the eleven-year Major League veteran, was acquired from the Anaheim Angels in 1997. This has had a part in getting the San Francisco Giants into the post season four times. His each of his first four years with the Giants, Snow’s defense shined as he managed to obtain a Gold Glove, making him a six-time Gold Glove winner. In 2003, he played in 103 games, batted .273, collecting eight homers, 51 RBI and a .387 OBP. As a Giant, he has a .267 AVG with 179 doubles, 108 homers, and 515 RVU in 958 games.

Young came to the Giants on August 19, 2003, when he was a acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers received minor league right-handed pitcher, Greg Bruso. With the Giants, the 36-year-old veteran hit .197 with three RBI and three stolen bases in 26 games.
