Game Notes:
Ryan Jensen left the game after the first inning due to muscle cramps in his thigh. Todd Linden, Lance Niekro, and Tony Torcato combined, went 0 for 11 with two RBI. Cody Ransom broke out of his 1-for-9 slump with a two-run homer in the ninth.

Team Notes:
Backup catcher, Craig Kuzmic now has a eight-game winning streak. Prior to yesterday's game, Kuzmic was 10-for-23 (.435) with a .313 AVG through July. As a catcher, he has caught four of nine runners attempting to steal.

Game Notes:
The Norwich Navigators scored only once on a solo shot to left-center by Chris Curry in the fifth. The Navigators hit into three double plays in the game. Norwich is now 11 games behind the first play Portland Sea Dogs as Norwich now holds a 47-59 record.

Team Notes:
R.D. Spiehs has been traded to San Diego in the deal the Giants made for Matt Herges. The 23-year-old relief pitcher went 2-5 with a 3.28 ERA for the Norwich Navigators. He allowed 22 runs in 60.1 innings this season. To replace Spiehs, San Francisco Giants have signed relief pitcher, James Lira. Lira was 0-1 with a 4.08 ERA in 18 games with Coastal Bend (independent Central League). The Navigators have also moved Elliot Brown and Vance Cozier to the starting rotation, while Mitch Walk moves to the bullpen. Walk has started 20 games for the Navigators and has a 3-10 record with a 4.69 ERA.

Game Notes:
The San Jose Giants have successfully swept the Visalia Oaks with the win on Sunday. Julio Pavon made his second start of the season and went 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits, 2 earned runs, one walk, and striking out four. Branden Florence and Tyler Von Schell both had good games. Florence was 2-for-4 and hit his 23 double of the season. Von Schell went 3-for-4, with 2 runs, hitting two doubles, his sixth homer of the season, and bringing in 4 RBI in the game.

Game Notes:
Yakima third baseman Jamie D'Antona hit the only run of the game - a lead off opposite field home run off Volcanoes pitcher Jesse Floyd. The Volcanoes have not been able to score a run against the Bears in the past 14 innings. Aaron Hornostaj, Travis Ishikawa, and Tim Hutting each hit a single in the game.

Team Notes:
Brad Vericker sat out his second straight game as he has an infection in his right ankle. He hopes to return on Wednesday. The homer hit by D'Antona was only the second that Volcanoes ace Jesse Floyd has permitted in 51 innings.
