--The Giants beat the Dodgers -- always a good thing.
--LHP Barry Zito looked decent, striking out two in the first inning, including Matt Kemp. Zito did give up two runs on four hits in just two innings of work, however.
--OF Melky Cabrera led off the game with a blast over the left field wall. He added another solo shot later in the game as well, homering from both sides of the plate.
--OF Nate Schierholtz had a couple of hits and an RBI. Nate also swiped second with ease after singling in the top of the fourth.
--IF Brett Pill went 2-for-4 with a homer and 2 RBI.
--OF Gary Brown got his first hit of the spring, a solid line drive to left to lead off the eighth.
--IF Joe Panik smoked a stand-up triple into the right field corner with one out in the ninth, his second hit in as many trips to the plate on the day. Joe looks to be ready to build on his success from '11, although he's only had three ABs.
--RHP Heath Hembree pitched a scoreless ninth, retiring the side in order.
--OF Gary Brown showed hesitation on the basepaths, getting thrown out easily trying to swipe second on a ball in the dirt.
--C Hector Sanchez went hitless in four trips to the dish, striking out once.
