ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE - Scottsdale 5, Surprise 8
Gary Brown got yet another day off Monday, and has not played in well over a week. No official word as to why.
Back in the lineup Monday, Brandon Crawford hit third and played shortstop for the Scorps. Crawford had a very nice game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI, raising his season average to .333 (16-for-48).
Joe Panik was at second base and hitting eighth for Scottsdale in Monday's game against Surprise. The versatile infielder is hitting .231 (12-for-52) after going 1-for-4 with a strikeout.
Austin Fleet got knocked around a bit on Monday, pitching one inning, giving up four hits and three runs, all of them earned, while striking out two. Two of the runs came by way of a homer from Tim Beckham of the Tampa Bay Rays. Fleet saw his ERA jump up from 1.00 to 3.60 while absorbing a blown save and the loss (2-1).
Stephen Harrold pitched one inning as well, allowing 2 hits and a run while striking out one batter. Harrold's ERA also climbed, up to 2.61.
