Giants Winter Ball Roundup: 10/23/2011

Brown nabs two hits. Crawford goes deep. Giants AFL relievers see action. Graham's all-around game shows again in Mexico. Sanchez out of the lineup in Venezuela. Adrianza earns another start. That and more as GiantsPipeline takes a look at Saturday's winter ball performances.

Games played Saturday, October 22.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE - Scottsdale 9, Phoenix 4

Gary Brown had a couple of hits on Saturday. Hopefully he's starting to get in a rhythm for the Scorpions. Brown went 2-for-5 with a strikeout and upped his average to .220 (11-for-50) on the fall campaign.

Brandon Crawford, back in the lineup on Saturday, hit his first home run of the fall -- a blast over the billboards in right field. Brandon went 2-for-5 with two runs, one RBI, the one home run and a strikeout. He's now hitting .353 (12-for-34).

All three Giants relief pitchers -- Seth Rosin, Austin Fleet and Stephen Harrold -- pitched an inning apiece and all pitched well, allowing five hits and zero runs combined, while striking out four. Rosin allowed two of those hits, struck out one batter and now has an ERA of 2.25. Harrold also allowed two hits, striking out two; his ERA is now 2.16. Fleet, who picked up the win and is now 2-0, allowed one hit and struck out one, lowering his ERA to 1.13 -- third best in the AFL. Crawford sparks Scorpions past Dogs

Although there were games on the schedule, either the website was not updated or the games were canceled. Either way, nothing to report.

Tyler Graham, as usual, was the leadoff hitter and center fielder for the Tomateros. Tyler went 1-for-3, raising his average a bit to .233 (10-for-43). The outfielder also scored a run, stole a base and added another outfield assist.

Hector Sanchez was completely out of the lineup for the Tiburones de La Guaira yesterday, a day after being subbed out of the DH spot after only two at bats. Even more reason to speculate that he may be dealing with some type of injury. We have asked a few people about the situation, including Hector himself via Twitter, but have not heard any news back yet.

Ehire Adrianza got his third straight start for the Tiburones. The young shortstop went 0-for-3 with a strikout, and is now hitting .467 (7-for-15).
