Giants pitching prospect Daryl Maday got the start for the Scorpions last Friday. The 26-year-old had a rough outing, getting tagged for 4 earned runs in 3 innings pitched (3 BB, 2 K).

It was his first AFL loss of the season. In his only other start he pitched four scoreless innings, striking out 6 on his way to picking up the win.

Maday spent the majority of 2011 at double-A Richmond. He posted a 4-10 record for the Flying Squirrels with a 4.47 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 116.2 innings pitched.
