Pannone named California Pitcher of the Week

After a brilliant start on April 23 against the Lake Elsinore Storm - pitching seven shutout innings and allowing one hit, Anthony Pannone has been named California Pitcher of the Week.

Starting pitcher for the San Jose Giants, Anthony Pannone, has been recently named the California League Pitcher of the Week. Although Pannone only made one appearance during the week, he delivered a wonderful performance on April 23 - a game against the Lake Elsinore Storm. He pitched seven shutout innings, allowing only one hit and one walk with an ERA of 0.00, earning his first win of the season.

Currently, Pannone has a win loss record of 1-0, with a 3.10 ERA and held opposing batters to a .192 AVG, striking out 23 and walking only 9. He now ranks 10th in the league.

Pannone attended Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas and was selected by the San Francisco Giants in the 16th round of the 2000 First Year Player Draft.
